Why STOTT PILATES?

The STOTT PILATES® methodology has taken over two decades to develop through collaboration with physical therapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals. It combines modern principles of exercise science and spinal rehabilitation, making it one of the safest and most effective methods available. It is widely used by rehab and prenatal/postnatal clients, athletes, celebrities, and about every segment of the population.

Benefits of STOTT PILATES

  • Longer, Leaner Muscles
  • Core Strength & Stability
  • Injury Prevention
  • Relief from Stress & Back Pain
  • Better Posture
  • Improved Balance & Coordination
  • Enhanced Athletic Performance
  • Effective Post-rehabilitation
  • Heightened Mind-body awarness
  • Increased Self-confidence

STOTT PILATES exercises are designed to restore the natural curves of the spine and rebalance the muscles around the joints. Emphasis is placed on stabilization and placement of the scapula, pelvis, rib cage, and neck/head, while using the breath to assist in the engagement of the correct core muscles. This teaches the body how to coordinate movements and become more aware of where it is in space.

This heightened sense of control and awareness is critical for peak performance and everyday functional activities.

Pilates is known for core conditioning but it also develops the small stabilizer muscles which are often underused, hence underdeveloped, leading to less than optimal joint stabilization and increased risk of injury. Traditional training focuses almost entirely on the larger muscle groups. Therefore, it is essential to add STOTT PILATES as a conditioning methodology to your traditional fitness regime.

What is my “core”?

Your core consists of not only your abdominals but also your gluteals, back and hips. Pilates addresses all these muscles to not only improve your core strength but also your hips and pelvic stability.
